Adoption Process
We ask that you fill out the adoption form prior to placing a deposit or make an appointment to meet puppies. We like to know who is inquiring about our puppies and what kind of lifestyle you will be offering our puppies. We may forfeit your right to adopt a puppy if we feel you would not be a good fit. We have loved them since birth and want the very best for them when they leave us.

We offer shipping or you may come pick up your puppy. A $500 deposit will add you to a waiting list or hold a specific puppy until they are ready for pick up. Deposits can be made through Venmo as a friend for no fee or a 2% fee as a purchase or an invoice can be sent through PayPal with a 4.5% transaction fee. Once I decide you would be a good candidate for one of our puppies, I can send you the details for paying the deposit. Puppies are picked when they are 4 weeks old. If you are on the waiting list, you will decide if you would like to pick a puppy from the current litter or move your deposit to another litter. Deposits are good for up to one year. Deposits are non-refundable. If the puppy you reserve is 6 weeks old or older, you will forfeit your deposit if you change your mind or your circumstances have changed.

Missouri adopted Nexus Law on January 1st, 2023 so all puppy sales have to changed sales tax regardless of your location. Our rate is 6.225%.

Nutrition

Our puppies start eating Nutri Source Small Medium Breed Puppy food with their moms around 4 weeks of age. We start weaning puppies at 6-7 weeks of age. We will send home a small sample of food in your puppy's care package. We have been feeding Nutri Source for over 20 years.

You may continue to use their brand or switch to another high-quality puppy food. We recommend keeping your pup on puppy food until they are 1 year of age, then you can switch them over to an adult formula. We recommend feeding your puppy twice a day with either 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup depending on their size. Don't give them more than they can clean up in 10-15 minutes. Gradually increase the amount as your puppy grows. We don't recommend giving your puppy access to food all the time, which can lead to overeating and obesity. Full feed is also harder for potty training since they are constantly eating and needing to potty. A consistent schedule is best.

It supports their developing immune system and tummy as their adjust to their new home and will continue to do wonders as they grow into their paws. We believe in this product so much we offer a 2-year extended health guarantee when you commit to using NuVet Plus.

Toys & Treats

Make sure you have lots of chew toys for the first 1-2 years. We like using Kong and other ultra tough brands. Young puppies may use small toys, but once they get a little bigger, they start destroying toys. You just don't want to give them anything they can choke on, especially if you are leaving them in the crate unattended. Tennis balls don't stand a chance with my Goldens! Just make sure you are monitoring and giving them age appropriate toys and treats.

Pick Up

Puppies can go to their new homes when they are 8 weeks old. Plan ahead and be available when your puppy is ready to go home or make arrangements with friends/family. Boarding is $25/day after the Saturday puppies turn 8 week old.
Shipping

We have options for local shipping up to 4 hours away. We have a family friend and past employee that delivers puppies for us. Shipping to Pacific by St. Louis, Missouri is $400 or $250 if at least two puppies are going in the same direction. Lebanon, Missouri is $250. She also does delivery to Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas up to 4 hours from Wheaton, Missouri.

We offer a flight nanny service to people who live across the country or in a different country. The nanny hand delivers the puppy from my airport to yours, caring for the puppy the whole travel time. Stand-by flying is the most common option since it is the cheaper option $550-650, but flight days and times can change if there are no available seats. A confirmed ticket can be purchased at a discounted rate through the flight nanny, which is an add-on to the delivery fee. There is sometimes a pet in cabin fee as well $150.
Once a nanny has been booked, they will send out a group text with flight details and keep everyone updated with any changes as soon as possible. The puppy must be paid for in full in a couple days prior to the delivery date. The nanny fee will be paid at the airport in the nanny's preferred payment method: cash, Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, etc.

All of our puppies are microchipped around 3 weeks of age. This ensures you get the exact puppy you picked at 4 weeks. The microchip will be registered in our name. You will receive info to register the microchip in your paperwork packet at pick up. We use Global Pet Security to register our microchips. It is $125 for the life of your puppy. It is important you transfer the microchip into your name in case something happens and your puppy gets lost.

Grooming

Doodles require grooming regularly, which is an added expense unless you want to groom them yourself. Before committing to buying a Doodle, make sure you have considered all the maintenance that they require. We groom our Doodles every 8 weeks. They need to be brushed between grooming appointments at least a couple times a week to prevent matting. The length and type of coat will determine how much extra brushing they need. Some Doodles have straight or wavy coats and some have kinky curly coats, which require the most maintenance because they generally don't shed. Make sure you purchase a comb and brush for grooming. Brushes mainly comb the top hair, while a comb will get down to the roots and prevent matting underneath, which is most common. Mats are also common around ears and tails. Bathe your Doodle no more than once every 1-2 weeks. You can wash away essential oils, making their skin dry and itchy.
